Swarthmore Friends Nursery School is a small private preschool under the care of Swarthmore Friends Meeting. Play is an integral tool within our school. In play, children develop a strong sense of self, empathy for others, and non-violent conflict resolution.

Included in our school activities are:  indoor free play, music, stories and language, creative movement, science (small group activities relating to the natural sciences), outdoor play (on a safe playground), drawing, painting and other artistic endeavors in addition to walks in Scott Arboretum on the Swarthmore College campus where we are located.

Each day includes refreshment time and opportunities for sharing, decision-making and problem-solving during both unstructured and structured activity time.  Our school year runs from Mid-September to the end of May with school breaks similar to the local school district (Wallingford-Swarthmore).
